What you need to know about the our new winter collection

Hackner Home has a new winter collection called Antithetical! We’re so excited to debut this curated selection of pillow covers inspired by a unique interpretation of the opposites of the winter season. This collection is designed to help you pair pillows to make a beautiful design easily. Learn more about how to create your own designs using our winter collection.

What is Antithetical?

Antithetical is a fun word that describes a pairing of opposites. In pillow design, a floral pillow would be antithetical to a striped pillow. The striped pillow is the opposite of the floral pillow, and they can make a beautiful pairing. Here at Hackner Home, we love describing designs as antithetical as we work to create beautiful pairings for our customers.

The Antithetical Collection is mostly divided into two categories: warm tones and cool tones. By combining these color tones, you can create a beautiful look that fits so many home styles.

Cool Tone Pillow Covers

Cool color tones are an old favorite at Hackner Home. These colors look beautiful with neutral and white rooms. We added a bunch of new styles for this Antithetical collection in cool tones. You can use these new pillow covers as a building block for an antithetical look or on their own and make a cool tone look in your space.

A mix of cool tones invokes the look of a snowy winter day. Throughout winter, the outside is filled with grays and dull browns. Snow covers the ground in white and the gray snow clouds fill the sky, while bare trees of a dull brown dot the landscape. These pillow covers are inspired by these colors. This part of winter is beautiful and brings the outside vibe into your home.

Warm Tone Pillow Covers

We don’t always carry a lot of warm tone pillow covers at Hackner Home, but we really wanted to bring in something different for this collection. The Antithetical collection highlights the way you can combine very different pillow covers into a nice look, so it was important to have some styles that are opposite some of our more classic looks. The great thing about these warm tone styles is that they pair so well with so many home styles and you can still have a neutral look with a mix of cool and warm tones. These warm tones also look beautiful on their own to create an inviting look during the cold of winter.

A beautiful aspect of winter is the warmth of being inside on a cold winter day. The gentle heat of a fire or the glow from a window on a dark winter night are examples of the unexpected joys of winter. The warm tones of the Antithetical Collection bring that unexpectedness to your decor by adding a depth of color to your designs. Combining these pillows with cool tone pillows creates a look reminiscent of the opposites of winter.

Making Antithetical Pairings

This collection makes pairing pillows into a formula. Here are some examples of pillows that have opposite styles that will look beautiful in your home. Use these guides to help you find your newest decor items.

This set of pillows combines similar patterns with different color tones. The warm tone pillow has a smaller pattern with a mustard yellow color, and that coordinates with the cool tone pillow that has a jute pick stitch, which is a close color to the mustard yellow. I like this pairing with a large Square Dance – Wheat pillow and a very small Pick Stitch – Blue pillow because that shows the contrast even better.
This set of pillows combines different pattern styles. The geometric pattern of the Gray Wool Windowpane pillow perfectly complements the floral-like pattern of the Beachy pillow cover. This pairing is much more neutral and the difference in the color tones is more subtle. This is a different take on antithetical pairings, but it still gives you a beautiful look.
This set of three pillow covers combines several antithetical pieces. The blue pillow has a distressed texture that contrasts with the smooth texture of the striped pillow cover. This one is a contrast to the patterned brown pillow cover, while both pillow covers are brown. This is antithetical to the blue color, which combines the different color tones of winter.

6 Favorite Christmas Styles from Hackner Home

Christmas is fast approaching. It’s hard to believe, but it’s true. After the slowest year on record, it feels good to get excited about preparing for the Christmas season. Hackner Home offers some awesome Christmas products that fit many different Christmas decor styles. Check out this guide to see our 6 favorite Christmas styles you can shop at Hackner Home this Christmas.

1. Minimal Christmas

@peteandselena on Instagram always have amazing style, but this minimal Christmas design is especially beautiful.

This is by and large our most popular Christmas style. A minimal Christmas style is awesome because you can incorporate your year-around decorations with subtle Christmas touches that fit your lifestyle. Switch your pillows out for some Christmas colors for a simple transitional style, and add vines and natural decorations throughout your house.

Design board for minimal Christmas. @halfway_wholeistic on Instagram used our stockings for a minimal fireplace and mantel look. @gueldandgold on Instagram used green pillows to give a neutral bed a Christmas look. Some of our minimal Christmas products this year include Eucalyptus Pillow Cover (New!), Textured Gray Pillow Cover (New!), Warm Linen Stocking, Black Windowpane Pillow Cover, Mod Pillow Cover, Sage Pin Stripe Stocking (New!), Minimal Tags in Joy (New! and a Hackner Home exclusive designed by yours truly).

We love a minimal Christmas. This year we have some new green pillow covers that will match any vines you choose. It is so easy to bring Christmas into your home with a simple garland, and you can find a good green pillow to tie the room together. If your home is already minimal or neutral, green will be a great accent color for the Christmas season. You can simply switch out one of your pillows for a green one for a seasonal look. This is a simple style that will look beautiful and timeless.

2. Scandinavian Christmas

This is another fun style we offer at Hackner Home. This style is great if you want your home to feel like a stylish ski lodge or Alpine chalet. Full of geometric patterns and bright colors, this style gives your home a distinct wintery look. It is easy to switch out some of the Christmas decor items for something more neutral and the look will carry you through the winter.

Our beautiful Scandinavian designs. Pictures from The House that Lars Built that I found on Pinterest and Chrissy Marie Blog also from Pinterest. The Scandinavian look is so popular because it fits with a mid-century modern home style. You can also incorporate the bright colors we offer with a more neutral home style for a pop during the Christmas season. We recommend pairing these styles with natural wood decorations and simple, solid colors. That highlights the fun patterns on the pillows.

3. Warm Christmas

Warm tones for cool days is our motto this winter. These beautiful colors will cozy up your house while you are stuck inside this Christmas. Combine bold but not bright reds and greens for a beautiful look with big but subtle prints and patterns. This year we have some really cool warm tone fabrics that I’m excited about for Christmas.

Create a cozy atmosphere this Christmas with warm tones. Pillows are a great way to bring in new and different colors into your space without making permanent changes. These colors have vintage vibes that really remind me of the Christmas season. If you’re looking for tips for styling bold pillows like these, check out our guide.

4. Boho Christmas

This bohemian look gives me serious Anthropologie vibes, and I’m here for it. I found this adorable mantle design from House on Longwood Lane on Pinterest.

We offer so many cool products that fit a bohemian style all year, and Christmas is no exception. This is a fun style because you can mix and match so many different pillow covers and stockings to create a unique look. A boho space does not have to match perfectly, and it can reflect your personality well. Use bright colors and bold patterns to liven up your space for Christmas. We also have a guide to help you select the right pillow insert size for your pillow covers to help you achieve the relaxed boho look with your pillows.

Fun boho Christmas design using Hackner Home pillows by @houseonlongwoodlane on Instagram and a boho Christmas look from Domino Magazine that I found on Pinterest. Our favorite boho Christmas pillows: New Veiling Brick Pillow Cover (New!), Textured Diamond in Black and White Pillow Cover, Artichoke Pillow Cover, Black Woven Pillow Cover (New!), Leaf – Berry Pillow Cover (New!), Succulent Green Pillow Cover (New!). Use creative wrapping like this scrap of burlap and Traditional Christmas Tags in Merry and Bright (New!).

5. Farmhouse Christmas

Who doesn’t love a good farmhouse Christmas? This style was made mega-popular by the HGTV show “Fixer Upper,” which popularized shiplap, all white everything, and, of course, farmhouse-style decor. Christmas is a great time to experiment with this style, or you can incorporate similar decorations with your already farmhouse-style home. This year we’re doing a variety of plaids for a farmhouse style along with classic buffalo check print and natural browns and tans. This is also an awesome style to use in small and subtle ways with other Christmas styles in your home.

Farmhouse Christmas designs from One Kindesign, Better Homes & Gardens, and Hackner Home. Some great farmhouse pillows: Buffalo Plaid Pillow Cover, Red Plaid – Christmas Tartan Pillow Cover, Green Plaid Pillow Cover, Antler Pillow cover (New!), Brown Textured Plaid Pillow Cover (New!). Our new Antler Pillow Cover gives your soft surfaces, like a couch or bed, a touch of nature. It is a unique pillow that will only be available for a limited time, so get yours soon!

6. Classic Christmas

We’re ending with a good, old-fashioned classic Christmas. You can easily find beautiful reds, greens, and whites in classic patterns and solid colors in the Hackner Home Christmas collection. This style looks great in a traditional home as well as any home style you have. You can add Christmas touches in a more obvious way. We have a beautiful Christmas plaid that is popular in pillow covers and stockings and it gives a Christmas vibe to any space.

Classic stocking styles include Red Plaid Stocking and Tan Jumper Stocking (New!). Classic Christmas pillows: Black Tartan Pillow Cover, White Outdoor Pillow Cover, Green Diamonds Pillow Cover, Gray & Red Plaid Pillow Cover (New!), Green Plaid Pillow Cover (New!), Red Plaid – Christmas Tartan Pillow Cover. Paper products: Traditional Tags (New!) in “Joy to the World,” Traditional Christmas Card (New!), Minimal Merry Christmas Card (New!).

Can you tell our favorite Christmas fabric? The red plaid is such a classic pattern that it fits with any Christmas look you choose. The key to a classic Christmas is to keep it simple. Traditional Christmas colors like red and green are the best because they give you a Christmas feeling with minimal effort.

Hackner Home offers Christmas products for a variety of styles to fit your home and your life. NEW: Signature and Limited Collections

If you have visited Hacknerhome.com recently to shop for pillow covers, you may have noticed some changes. You can now shop our Limited and Signature Collections, which describe how long a pillow style will be available. We will introduce the collections to you and try to answer any questions about the new signature and limited collections on hacknerhome.com here in this post.

Signature Collection

Signature collection pillows (bottom to top): Creamy Linen (Coming soon), West Beach – Brown, Modern Stripe – Dark Blue

The Signature Collection features the classic Hackner Home styles that will always be available. This is the smaller of the two collections. These pillows are made from fabrics woven at a local mill that we can continue to make for a long time to come. As we find more beautiful fabrics from the mill, we will update and add to the collection.

Limited Collection

Limited Collection Pillows (bottom to top): Soft Stripe Linen (sold out), Basketweave – Pink, Green Textured Diamonds (coming soon), Jacquard Angle.

The Limited Collection features pillows that are only available for a limited time. These pillows constantly change, so it is important to stay up to date on the available styles. Once they sell out, they are no longer available. One of my favorite places to find fabrics for the Limited Collection is a local fabric shop. The styles in this collection are some of the more trendy or bold styles that change frequently, so it is important to us to keep this selection updated.

Some Questions You May Have

We want to make sure the shopping experience is easy and enjoyable for you as you design your space with our pillows. These questions and answers will help you navigate our Signature and Limited Collections as you search for your new favorite pillows.

I still want to search by pattern. How do I do that?

If you have a pattern or color in mind already, you can search for it using the search bar. This will give you a list of all the pillow covers (and other products) we have in that color or pattern.

Each listing gives you the price for the fabric sample, but you can also purchase the pillow there, too. This is a simple way to sort pillows the way you want.

How long will a Limited pillow be available?

That depends. The amount of fabric we get varies as well as the popularity of a style.

For example, I worked with Cristina from @homeonmountforest to design a set for her bedroom. I picked a couple of our limited styles to use in her design and she used them in her bedroom. Then, she posted pictures of her new pillow set and said it was available on our website. I didn’t realize that she worked to grow a loyal and engaged following, and these people loved her new bed set. The set sold out quickly and people began to request more. Unfortunately, I can’t get more of these fabrics but no one knew that they had limited availability. (This is also part of the reason we decided to debut the Limited and Signature Collections to better show availability.) This is a long way of saying we don’t know how long a pillow will be available.

A good rule of thumb is to purchase a pillow when you see it just in case.

Can I still shop categories like “All Pillow Covers” or “Outdoor?”

Yes! These categories are still available. We are also keeping a category for sets. This will help you find something specific more quickly. The outdoor pillows are also included in the Limited and Signature Collections, so you can find them in multiple places.

A pillow I love from the Limited Collection is sold out! What do I do?

Unfortunately, once a style is sold out, you can’t get it anymore. We do offer many styles that are similar, with similar patterns or in a similar color. You might be able to find something you like, just keep looking. If you need help, don’t hesitate to contact me in the Instagram DMs or by email. I can help find you a similar pillow or find one that works with your design.

Are the pillows I see from my favorite influencer from the Limited or Signature Collection?

These beautiful pillows styled by @collectivedigs are from our Limited Collection.

You don’t even need to use the Limited and Signature Collections to find sets from your favorite influencers. Many of our influencers work with us to design a style that fits their space and then we sell those pillows as a set. If you only want one, you will need to search for it. Many of these people purchase pillows from our shop and can pick any style they want. Try searching by color or pattern or reaching out on Instagram to ask us for the specific name.

Are pillow covers more expensive because they’re limited? Have you changed your pricing?

Nope. The price of a pillow cover depends on several factors: the size, the fabric price, and the labor to make it. The prices of the different collections are comparable. You don’t need to worry about picking out a style from a certain collection because they both have our Hackner Home low prices you know and love.

I’m trying to style a set of pillows. Do limited and signature pillows look good with each other?

You can mix and match limited and signature pillows to your heart’s content. The categories depend on the availability of the pillow, though, so make sure you buy everything you need from the limited collection before a style becomes unavailable.

You can make pairings from any mix of limited and signature pillows, like these that use both.

The new limited and signature collections will help you pick out pillows based on availability. You can still shop by pattern or color using the search function and our prices have not changed. Check out HacknerHome.com to shop the new collections and make sure to check out our articles on styling neutral and bold pillows for more inspiration.
